Yeditepe University located in Istanbul, Turkey, is interested in development of organic and biotechnological products used in Agriculture. The team of Dr. Fikrettin Sahin, faculty member of the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering at Yeditepe University, is working on isolation, identification and characterisation of PGPR from the rhizosphere and phyllosphere of different plant species including wheat. Dr. Sahin and his coworkers are experienced in the evaluation of PGPR strains in terms of N- fixation, P-solubilisation, phytohormone production and antimicrobial activities. In RHIBAC, YUDGB will provide PGPR strains isolated from Turkey. YUDGB will study the plant promoting and protection mechanisms of PGPRs in laboratory, greenhouse and field conditions.
